Bjarne Lien, from Romsdal

Accordeon player Bjarne Lien from Vistdal in Romsdal started his first orchestra in 1969.


He
quickly got a good  reputation for fine compositions and catchy folk rhythms.

On the first album in 1974, "Dance on the Romsdal yard", the Quartet consisted of Bjarne Lien, Unni Staurset (fiddle), Ola Holm (guitar) and Jorulf Dalset (bass).

Later
he also played with Bjørn Jacobsen, Håkon Oshaug and Håkon Nilsen (bass), and Bjarne Hjelvik (guitar) and the famous fiddler Ola Opheim.

Among many famous Lien-compositions are MARDALSFOSSEN,

ROMSDALSTERNA and PÅ GAMMELDANSENS VEGNE.
